Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem Fund supporting businesses with eye for export

Territory business Arctic Installations has received a $500,000 investment through the Northern Territory’s Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem Fund (AMEF) to design, manufacture and commercialise insulated, cyclone-certified roof panels for Northern Australia and export markets.

The panels are designed to maximise the thermal and structural building characteristics of buildings in tropical locations and ensure humidity and cyclonic conditions are effectively managed. Arctic Installations is collaborating with MDI Systems, Rapid Engineering NT and James Cook University for the project which is valued at $2.9 million in total.

Arctic Installations has secured its first export deal with ETO Energy in Dili and is set to launch the bespoke roof panels by the end of 2023.

The AMEF is part of a 5-year $8.75 million partnership with the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC). AMEF provides grants to industry led advanced manufacturing projects located in Australia’s Northern Territory.
